Should I take advantage of any of these Waiver Wire pick ups?
Question by Rafe Preston: Should I take advantage of any of these Waiver Wire pick ups?
I usually pick up a few guys off the waiver wire, but as the season has progressed, I’ve got a pretty solid team right now. Here are my best options on the wire:
QBs: Ben Roethlisberger and David Garrard.
RBs: Fred Jackson is looking good. Joseph Addai and Reggie Bush about to come off injury…hopefully.
WRs: Michael Crabtree and Mario Manningham.
Here is my current line up…anyone worth getting rid of for one of those guys on the wire?
QBs: Tom Brady and Eli Manning
RBs: Rashard Mendenhall, Ahmad Bradshaw, Peyton Hillis, Knowshon Moreno, Ryan Torain, and LeGarrette Blount.
WRs: Andre Johnson, Brandon Lloyd, Miles Austin, Chad Ochocinco, and Mike Wallace.
TEs: Jason Witten and Jacob Tamme
D/STs: Giants and Rams.
Ks: Matt Bryant and Sebastian Janikowski

Your team is stacked..However I think Reggie Bush and Fred Jackson have more of an upside moving forward than Bryant and Rams Def so I would look into grabbing those guys. Also depends on ur waiver priority.

Q&A: Red River Rivalry Advantage?
Question by Colby B: Red River Rivalry Advantage?
Ok, as a Tech fan, I may be biased, but the current situation in college football and all the scenarios got me thinking and I think its a legit assumtion. The “neutral” site of Dallas seems to be an unfair advantage to both teams in some ways because isnt it virtually a home game for Texas every year? I’ve watched the game this year and alot of Okies come, but the ratio isnt even close to what it would be had it been in Norman. Home games are extremely crucial and Texas not having to play in Norman every other year while all other teams do seems to be an advantage. Even if the fans were 50-50 texas and oklahoma, its still not like the 90-10 ratio, had it been an actual home game. Again very unfair. Texas MAY have lost to Oklahoma had it been in Norman right? maybe not but still. This is all considering you can agree that home crowds can influence games. As a Tech fan headed to Norman, I would LOVE to have the game in Dallas, I feel being away from one of the hardest stadiums in the country would be extremely helpful. Sooner fans like it in Dallas? The half way city being there, which is the home of the University of Texas Arlington by the way. UT has a campus there..Idk. Think from other teams perspective. Great game, great tradition but Texas is glad they don’t have to go to Norman. Oklahoma may be glad not to go to Austin, but they never get the upper hand advantage of having the majority of the fans present. Theres no doubt its somewhat helpful right?

Q&A: Help, what do I do when my best friend has completely taken advantage of me ?
Question by Deb: Help, what do I do when my best friend has completely taken advantage of me ?
My best friend (lynne) of 25yrs lives in Roatan Honduras and visits yearly and asks us to pay for the trip. They have no money and live there for health reasons(she is a breast cancer survivor) This year she asks to come June 10 – 27th. I told her that was a bad time for us, could she wait just one week. She said no that those days were cheapest. Then, while she is here she asks us to pay for a trip to go she her parents. I told her no then she went behind my back by calling my husband at work and gives him a sob story, then asks him for the miles. He did not know that I had already said no to her. Now, before going to see her parents she spends $ 2000.00 on clothes and i was really angry at this point. She stayed with them 5 days and returns to our home. Then the you know what hits the fan over and over again. We have 2 – 8 yr old grand kids, Destiny (my son’s) and Austin ( from our daughter-Rhiannon)) On this particular day they wanted to spend the night with us and Rhiannon said, “not tonight”. Austin told her that he felt like we did not like him anymore. Lynne then jumps up and shouts at him,”that is lie from the pit of hell.” He got so upset that she said that to him, he cried so much and was inconsoulable. Next Lynne tells Destiny to come inside with her where she asks Destiny how she would feel about me had I said they could spend the night. Lynne came back outside and told me that Destiny said she would not respect me if I had let them stay. I know Destiny so well and she would not have said that. So, I asked her and was said she didn’t say anything about me. For some reason Lynne lied to me. How can I continue this friendship, even her two sons will not talk to her. Believe it or not, I still love Lynne, right now i hate how she has treated my family. Help

But if your friend is using you, then she is not really your friend at all.

Would being a Texan residence be an advantage when I apply to UT AUSTIN?
Question by sdAREISERS: Would being a Texan residence be an advantage when I apply to UT AUSTIN?
I was born in Texas, but I’ve left the state for many years now, and I don’t think I’d be considered as a resident there.
But I’m applying to UT Austin, and I’d be considered an INTERNATIONAL STUDENT.
So…if I were a resident, would my chances of getting in be HIGHER?

public schools tend to accept more in-state residents than out-of-state residents. look at the percentage of in-state students accepted compared to out-of-state students. and in your case, the international student percentage. you should try calling the admissions office & ask an admissions officer about it. also, having texas residency means you only have to pay in-state tuition which is much lower than out-of-state tuition. good luck! hook ‘em horns!
