This is EXTREMELY LONG, bare with me. I’m extremely sorry it’s this long, but lots of crap has happened. This kinda goes back two years, and at first a few years, and has lots of detail, and I know I shouldn’t think about the past, but the past has to do with what’s happening now. I know that some of it is childish, and I do apologize for it, but most of it is not me.

I’m a Sophomore (almost junior) in high school now. Tori and I have been friends for nearly 7 years, and we’re both 16. The problem is her cousin Samantha. I know the first thing you’re going to say is ‘Blood is thicker than water,’ but this is different. Me and Tori met back in 4th grade, when we were around 8 or 9. Samantha and Tori have been cousins/friends since they were babies, and really, they’re just best friends, not even cousins to each other, more like sisters. We’re all the same age. When me and Tori met, Samantha didn’t like me at all, but somehow, when we were in fifth grade, I stayed at Tori’s and so did Samantha for some movie, and me and Samantha became friends then, at that time only because we liked the same music, which was Aly and AJ.

We stayed really good friends until eighth grade, when I realized that Samantha was really controlling, and she was a b**ch, because she always wanted to be the center of attention and thought everyone liked her, and used her mother. I met a friend in eighth grade named Kirstie, and told her about Samantha, and she told me to confront her about it, so I did, but I took it too far, and I kinda regret it. Kirstie told me to ‘hand it to her,’ and I did what she said because I knew that I was right. I did eventually realize Kirstie was just as controlling and judgmental and b*tchy. Me and Samantha continually argued and made up, and eventually I wanted revenge on her and wanted to ruin her life, because other friends agreed with me. I asked Tori if she agreed with me about Samantha, and she told me that she agreed to an extent, but Samantha was going to be Samantha, and warned me that I couldn’t change it. I didn’t listen to her, and continued to ‘hate’ Samantha, yet I was still talking to her and acting like the best of friends with her. Finally, Samantha warned me that she was going to get back at me really hard, but we eventually ‘made up,’ but it’s been a nightmare for me.

We made up, and I think she really meant what she said when she said she was going to get back at me. I grew up, finally (although this post might not seem like it, but I’m trying to resolve an issue without lashing back at Samantha), and haven’t bothered her since (although, I do make indirected comments towards her, and she doesn’t really do anything about it, except give me the cold shoulder), but I still think she has bad intentions. Ever since, I feel like she’s taking advantage of Tori, just to get back at me (keep in mind, Tori is a REAL follower). She excludes me from everything, and still says we’re friends. Her and Tori created secret Twitter accounts to communicate back and forth, and I found that out because I created one and searched them to see if they had Twitter accounts, and found that Samantha called me a dirty b**ch. I didn’t do it on purpose, and found that tweet just in time, but I still followed her, she seen me, followed me back, and I never said a word to her. Again, I know how childish it sounds. And when I complain about them ignoring me, then for a while she changes her attitude, and Tori went to the point of lying to me so her and Samantha could hang out. I complained about that, and finally Tori or Samantha plainly states it indirectly to me what they’re going to do. I really thought we made up.

Also, I think some of it has to do with me not being into Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Austin Mahone, and Cody Simpson. It’s really just Samantha, but Tori acts like she likes them (except she really does like Taylor Swift) just so Samantha doesn’t ditch her or get mad at her. (I know, I’m seething at this, too…) Samantha is a wannabe Justin Bieber/Austin Mahone/Cody Simpson girlfriend. 0.0 Again, I do realize that’s also childish… I’m beginning to wonder if I should be asking how to deal with immature friends, but I do respect their music taste, it’s just how Samantha carries herself on with it.

ALSO, back then I thought that Samantha was manipulating Tori, because Tori was acting ‘different.’ She had a new, more negative attitude, and acts like she can’t trust me as well. She recently started drawing further and further away from me. Could it be that Samantha is manipulating Tori?

Is Samantha getting revenge on me from two years ago?

ok. this one depends on gender. if you’re a girl (i didn’t read the WHOLE thing,i just skimmed through it) then i don’t think i can help you at all. if you’re a guy then the answer is simple: you’re gonna have to ditch both of them. see, Tori is what’s linking you to Samantha and Samantha is, of course, unfreindly (hostile). it seems, by what you’ve wrote, that samantha turns on and off from time to time. i know it may be hard to ditch a long-time freind but it’s the only solution to stay away from samantha. i’m not saying it’ neccesary, but that’s what i’d do. maybe you could stay in touch with tori through facebook,cellphone,etc.

Question by boondocks2go: Help me please! Military and college?
So this is my dilemma. I got accepted to university of Texas at Austin, uc irvine, loyola Chicago. I am a resident of Illinois and am very much considering becoming a marine corps reservist. Now i was told that if i were to join the marines and attend school in Illinois that the state would pay for my entire tuition. Now as you can see i got accepted to some nice places and was wondering if californnia and Texas do the same? Since if i were to enlist i would have to defer my acceptance for a year for boot camp. what are the exact educational benefits i can use to my advantage? I want to attend a school as an out of state resident in the reserves. Is there such a thing? Help please

I went to school in Pennsylvania as a resident of Maryland and all that meant was that my Reserve station was closer to school. Bit of a drive if I wasn’t in school at the time, but worth it. Look into the split program if it’s still around – one summer for basic, one summer for MCT/specialty training, depending on MOS.

Question by that1 guy: Speeding ticktet and radar advice. Please help me out?
I just got a “speeding’ ticket. I really wasnt. But while doing research I found out the Austin PD keeps no records of calibration on the radar guns. How can this work to my advantage? I was told via email from a rep. of APD that the officer could swear b oath that it was calibrated. How could this play out?

Expect to get slammed in court. All the officer has to do is testify that he tested the unit (there is a tool issued with the radar gun for this purpose) and it passed.

Question by letsmoveon: Can I get into UT Austin? Please help me?!?
Alright so i’m a junior in high school and I really really want to go to UT Austin. I plan on doing early decision (I heard this makes a difference, but i’m not sure how big of a difference…)
Anyway here’s basically what I have:

Including senior year i’ll have a total of 9 AP classes in my high school career, this excludes honor classes.
I’ve been in Student Council for 4 years
I was in Ecology Club, Spanish Club, and Earth Club
GPA: 4.2
Class rank: 250/497 (I know its bad, but all the lazy people are dropping out of our grade so it’s getting harder to compete in:(
SAT Score: just took it but i’m guessing like a 1600? i’ll retake it
ACT Score: 30
I’m a texas resident, i’m also from an asian background. I don’t know if being a minority gives you an advantage?
I also have currently 2-3 of my cousins attending the school

What do you think? I really appreciate all the help I can get!

honestly, in my opinon, ut is not that hard to get in. im sure you’ll be able to get in now, but you can keep raising your sat scores, and raise your class rank a little, and you be in for sure
